WBCA announces Division 4 Girls Basketball All-State Team

Sidney Cooks of Kenosha St. Joseph and Katie Van Scyoc have been selected as unanimous 2017 WBCA Division 4 All-State for the second consecutive season. 

Cooks was named co-Miss Basketball and led the Lancers to a sectional final and an 18-8 overall record. The Michigan recruit averaged 27.6 points, 13.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.6 blocks per game for coach Lynell Collins and the Lancers. As a junior, Cooks led St. Joe's to a state runner-up finish. She finished her career with 1,909 points. 

Van Scyoc led the Knights to a 22-2 overall record and regional final appearance. The Drake University recruit averaged 20.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.7 steals per game for coach Reed Tyriver and the Knights. As a junior, Van Scyoc helped Lourdes Academy to a sectional final. 

Hannah Anderson of Regis averaged 15.2 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game for coach Patrick Boughton and the Ramblers who finished the year with a 16-8 record. The Viterbo University recruit helped the Ramblers reach the state tournament as a junior. 

Mikayla Brouette of Pardeeville averaged 23 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 4.1 steals per game for coach and father Mike Brouette. The Bemidji State recruit led the Bulldogs to a 19-5 record. 

Lexi Donarski of Aquinas had a sensational freshman campaign and helped the Blugolds to a Division 4 state runner-up finish. The Iowa State recruit averaged 14.2 points, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game for coach and father Dave Donarski and the Blugolds who ended the year with a 27-1 record. 

Taylor Nier of Wittenberg-Birnamwood helped the Chargers finish one win away from the state tournament and a 24-2 overall record. She averaged 15.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game for coach Mike Balliett and the Chargers. 

Ambree Schlosser of Durand led the Panthers to the state tournament and a 23-4 overall record. She finished the year averaging 15.6 points, 3.4 assists and 3.1 steals per game for coach Lionel Jones and the Panthers. 

Sydney Staver of Mineral Point led the Pointers to a sectional semi-final and 19-6 overall record. The UW-Milwaukee recruit averaged 17.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.3 steals per game for coach Mitch Wainwright and the Pointers. As a junior, she helped Mineral Point captured the Division 4 state title. 

Caitlyn Tipton of Laconia averaged 17.2 points, 2 assists and 2 steals per game for coach Chris Morgan and the Spartans (22-2) who fell to eventual state champion Howard Grove in a regional final. The UW-Platteville recruit connected on 54 three-pointers while shooting better than 45 percent from behind arc. 

Sam Yancy of Howards Grove helped the Tigers (27-1) capture their first state title in program history. She averaged 11.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.6 steals and a block per game for coach Heidi Georgeff and the Tigers.
