WBCA announces Division 1 Girls Basketball All-State Team

Grace Beyer of Mukwonago and Sydnee Roby of Milwaukee King headline 2017 Division 1 WBCA All-State as unanimous selections. Kenzie Schmitz of Germantown is a repeat first team all-state pick. 

Beyer led the Indians to a 22-3 overall record and reach a sectional semi-final before falling to state qualifier Middleton. The Division I prospect averaged 17 points per game for coach Rick Kolinske and the Indians. Last season, she helped Mukwonago finish as the state runner-up. 

Roby, a 6-foot-4 forward, has multiple Division I offers, including Wisconsin, led the General to the state tournament before falling to state champion Appleton North in a state semi-final. She averaged 16.9 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 3.8 blocks per game for coach Craig Machut and the Generals who finished the year with a 25-1 record. 

Schmitz led Germantown to a sectional final before falling to state runner-up De Pere. The Miami-Ohio recruit averaged 20.6 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3.2 steals and 1.7 blocks per game for coach Matt Stuve the Warhawks who finished the year with a 23-3 record. She finished her career with 1,430 points. 

Erin Howard of Madison East averaged 15.5 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 1.7 blocks per game for coach James Adams and the Purgolders. The Auburn recruit led Madison East to a sectional final, falling to Middleton, and finished the year with a 19-6 record. 

Jayda Jansen of Sun Prairie led the Cardinals to a sectional appearance and 21-4 record. She averaged 16.8 points, 5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game for coach John Olson and the Cardinals. 

Bria Lemirande of Middleton led the Cardinals to the state tournament and 23-4 record. She averaged 14.7 points per game for coach Jeff Kind and the Cardinals. Lemirande also helped Middleton reach the state tournament as a sophomore. 

Sydney Levy of Appleton North led the Lightning to the state title and a perfect 28-0 record this season. The UW-Milwaukee recruit averaged 18.7 points per game for coach Joe Russom and the Lightning. Levy also helped Appleton North reach the state tournament as a sophomore.

Alex Luehring of Verona averaged 20.5 points per game for coach Angie Murphy and the Wildcats who fell to state qualifier Middleton in a regional final. The UW-Green Bay recruit helped Verona capture the Division 1 state title as a junior. 

Chloe Marotta of Homestead averaged 20.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 3.4 steals and a block per game for coach Corey Wolf and the Highlanders. The Marquette recruit led Homestead to a 17-7 record, their season ended in a regional final against state runner-up De Pere. 

Lizzie Miller of De Pere led the Redbirds to a state runner-up finish and 25-3 record. She averaged 14.6 points with 49 three-pointers for coach Jeremy Boileau and the Redbirds.
