La Crosse Central's Bailey Kale has been selected as the top senior Point Guard as part of the WSN Senior Boys Basketball Awards.

The NCAA Division II recruit for Minnesota-Duluth is averaging 18.0 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game for the Red Raiders, who take a 24-2 record into their Division 2 state semifinal game against Waunakee.

This marks the second consecutive state tournament appearance for the Red Raiders, who finished the season #1 in the WisSports.net Division 2 Coaches Poll.

A four-year varsity performer for coach Todd Fergot, Kale’s smooth shooting stroke and overall court intelligence are major reasons why the team captured a second straight Mississippi Valley Conference title.

Finalists for the award were Kale, DeAndre Johns of Kenosha St. Joseph, Luke Loewe of Fond du Lac, Storm Murphy of Middleton, and Shane Wissink of Oshkosh North.

Past winners of the award include Te'Jon Lucas of Milwaukee Washington (2016), Darrel Riley of Milwaukee North (2015), Riley LaChance of Brookfield Central (2014), Duane Wilson of Dominican (2013), and Carrington Love of Pius XI (2012).

WSN Senior Basketball Awards are selected by WisSports.net staff.
