Prescott's Owen Hamilton selected as the state's top senior Post player

Prescott's Owen Hamilton has been selected as the top senior Post player as part of the WSN Senior Boys Basketball Awards.

Hamilton has been dominant for much of the season while leading Prescott to its third straight title in the Middle Border Conference and a trip to the WIAA Division 2 State Tournament.

The 7-1 center is averaging 25 points, 12.2 rebounds and 3.3 blocked shots per contest while shooting 65 percent from the floor and 67 percent from the free-throw line.

A 1,000-point career scorer, Hamilton will play at NCAA Division I Northern Illinois in the fall.

Finalists for the award were Hamilton, Kimberly's Will Chevalier, McDonell Central's Alex Ohde, Destiny's Sarion McGee, and Ripon's Bennett Vander Plas.

Past winners of the award include Taurus Adams II of Brown Deer (2016), Diamond Stone of Dominican (2015), Davante Jackson of Brown Deer (2014), Luke Fischer of Germantown (2013), and Luke Heller of D.C. Everest (2012).
