Barneveld senior Matthew Myers has been selected as the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week for the week of March 13 through 20 after a vote on WisSports.net. 

There were 2,023 votes this week; Myers received 790, while La Crosse Central's Kobe King finished second with 482 votes. 

Myers helped the Golden Eagles capture their first state title in program history, defeating Shullsburg 58-28 in the Division 5 title game. Matthew finished with a game-high 20 points and added 3 assists, a steal, and a block in the championship game.

In Barneveld's 72-52 win over Columbus Catholic in a state semi-final, Myers scored a game-high 17 points which included 5 three-pointers and also added 5 assists.

The senior averaged 13.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.4 steals per game for coach and father Jim Myers and the Golden Eagles who finished the year with a 26-3 record.
