Favorite Sport: "Softball is my favorite sport. I've been playing softball since I was in elementary school. I remember watching the women's college world series and/or Team USA on TV and I was hooked. I knew at a young age that I definitely wanted to be a softball player. Softball isn't just about being able to throw a 65 mph fast ball or hitting the ball over the fence for a home run. lt takes many, many hours of practice to learn how to throw other pitches such as the screw ball, drop curve, and change up. It is so rewarding when you learn to throw the different pitches well and your opponents have no idea what pitch will be thrown next. Batting is also a lot of fun. I don't want to take anything away from hitting a home run over the fence but being able to put down a well placed bunt is totally awesome, especially when your opponent is least expecting it."

Best Part of High School Sports: "The best part of high school sports is spending time with friends doing activities that we enjoy. High school sports has allowed me to meet new people and create new friendships and lots of memories."

Best Advice from a High School Coach: "It takes no talent to hustle."

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: "The most memorable moment of my high school sports is hitting my first home run as a freshman and not realizing the ball went over the fence. I stopped at second base because the field ump told me it was a ground rule double. Coach Wusterbarth teasingly called out to me from third base, 'Hey, do you not understand what a home run is?'"

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: "Playing three sports has made me a stronger person, not only physically, but mentally.  I truly believe the skills and lessons that I have learned in one sport has helped me become a better player and teammate in all other sports and activities."

Toughest Part of Playing Three Sports: "The toughest part of playing three sports is managing your time. At times it is a struggle to finish homework after a hard practice or a conference game in Gilbralter (a conference team which is approximately a 2 hour bus ride from Oconto). Wanting to improve my skills in volleyball, basketball, and softball, I've participated in multiple club sports throughout middle school and high school. At times this was a scheduling nightmare. There always seemed to be a conflict between the sports. I did not like disappointing my teammates or coaches because I could not participate in practice/games because I was participating in a different sporting event. I found that communication with my coaches/teammates is the key and in the end, it worked itself out."

She encouraged me and supported me in volleyball, especially during my junior year when I transitioned from a hitter to becoming a setter. She truly understands the hard work and dedication it takes to achieve the goal of playing sports in college."

College Plans: "I plan to study Music Industry and play softball at Minnesota State University-Moorhead."
