SPASH fifth inning rally leads to 8-4 win over DC Everest

both teams garner 11 hits, Cherney gets the win for SPASH

DC Everest and SPASH have had some close games the past few seasons and today's game at Stevens Point followed that same thread.

SPASH took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first and added another run in its half of the third. DC Everest plated a pair to knot the score in the top of the fifth but the Panthers had an answer back inning with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. 

Everest answered back in the top of the sixth and cut into the lead with two more runs but SPASH answered back again with two more. 

Aubri Drohner started for SPASH and went 3 1/3, allwoing two runs on two hits, walked four and struck out 2. Cherney followed up with 3 1/3 innings of work, allowed nine hits, walked two and fanned four. 

The losing pitcher was M. Gajewski who went the distance allowing 11 hits, walked four and struck out 10. She threw 144 pitches in the loss. 

For Everest Gajewski doubled and homered while the Panthers were led by Miklesh with a triple and Pavelski homered. Miklesh went 3x4 while Cherney was 2x4. Palutz ]. Plaza, Gajewsk, Wituckii and Peterson all had two hits for Everest.
