Falling behind 2-0 early in a soccer match is less than ideal, but thankfully there is a lot of time to make up ground, which is exactly what the La Crosse Central girls soccer team last Tuesday.

Tomah went up 2-0 to start the game, but Central wouldn't go away. Gao Vang got the Red Raiders on the board and cut the deficit in half prior to halftime.

That's when Kate Heise took over. She scored the tying goal just a couple minutes into the second half on an assist from Kelsey Dutchin, though it looked like things would head to overtime as the score remained tied at two in the final minutes of regulation.

However, in the 90th minute, Heise scored an unassisted goal to give Central a 3-2 victory, moving them to 8-4 overall and 3-4 in the Mississippi Valley Conference.
