Senior Softball Awards: Outfielder Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN Senior Softball Awards

The pre-season watch list has been trimmed down to five finalists. Winners are announced the week of the softball state tournament.

WSN Senior Softball Awards -- Outfielder Finalists:

Alyssa Blair, Sun Prairie: Blair was named first-team all-Big Eight and is hitting .500 with 31 RBI and 37 runs scored. She has a home run, 6 triples, and 4 doubles to go along with just 4 strikeouts. Alyssa carries a .716 slugging percentage. Defensively, she has just one error in 94 chances. Sun Prairie (22-3 overall) earned a share of the Big Eight title and will play Holmen in a Division 1 sectional final on Thursday. 

Morgyn DeLara, Delavan-Darien: DeLara hit .545 with 16 doubles, 8 home runs, 40 RBI, and 41 runs scored. She hit 3 home runs and finished with 10 RBI in a win over Badger this season. Morgyn finished the season with a 1.023 slugging percentage. Delavan-Darien's season ended with a loss to Beloit Turner in a Division 2 sectional semi-final. 

Katie Fritz, Southwestern: Fritz finished the year hitting .439 with 22 RBI and 43 runs scored. She hit 6 home runs, 7 doubles, and 2 triples. Katie also tallied 30 stolen bases in 31 attempts. Southwestern (21-7) lost to Belmont 3-1 in a Division 5 sectional semi-final. 

Saige Henning, Shawano: Henning hit .625 with 23 RBI and 33 runs scored. She hit 6 home runs, 6 doubles, and 4 triples, along with walking 10 times and striking out just 4 times all season; she also carried a .692 on base percentage and 1.125 slugging percentage. The Hawks finished second in the Bay Conference and 17-7 overall, falling to Denmark, 6-3, in a Division 2 sectional semi-final. 

Morgan Zirbel, Ashwaubenon: Zirbel shared FRCC Player of the Year honors. For the season, she hit .553 with 34 RBI, and 20 runs scored. Morgan finished with 16 doubles, 2 home runs, 2 triples and struck out just twice all season while carrying a .859 slugging percentage. In the field, she had 22 putouts and didn't commit an error. Ashwaubenon (17-8 overall) fell to Pulaski 2-1 in a Division 1 regional final.
