WFSCA announces 2017 Softball Players of the Year and All-State

The Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association has announced its All-State and award information for the 2017 season.

Senior pitcher Haley Hestekin of Kaukauna was named Division 1 Player of the Year after leading the Galloping Ghosts to the state title. In Division 2, junior catcher Sam Soley took home player of the year honors after helping the Warriors win the state title. For the third consecutive season, Laconia pitcher Kayla Schwebke was named Division 3 Player of the Year and leading the Spartans to their third straight state championship. In Division 4, junior pitcher Nickole Becker of Juda/Albany was chosen as the player of the year after leading the Panthers to the state title. Junior infielder Kaylee Learman of Greenwood received Division 5 Player of the Year honors. 

After leading Laconia to its third consecutive state championship and 25-0 record, Scott Ritzema was named the state's Coach of the Year. Mark Angel was selected as the Umpire of the Year.
