Girls WBCA All-Star Games: North goes 3-2

The 40th Annual Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games were held in Wisconsin Dells on Friday, June 16th at the JustAgame Fieldhouse. 

North won three of the five girls WBCA All-Star games.

Division 1: North 83, South 56

North led 40-27 at halftime before cruising to an 83-55 win over the South in the Division 1 WBCA All-Star Game at JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells. Oshkosh North's Sammy Buerger finished with a game-high 19 points. Verona's Alex Luehring (UW-Green Bay recruit) and De Pere's Lizzie Miller each added 13 points for the North. Sussex Hamilton's Macy Williams (University of Mary recruit) and Menomonee Falls' Marissa Igunbor (University of Chicago recruit) each tallied 10 points to lead the South. 

Division 2: North 65, South 46

The North led by eight points at the half before pulling away from the South in the second half to win 65-46. New London's Leah Porath, a UW-Oshkosh recruit, finished with game-high 18 points for the North. Beaver Dam's Kara Crowley also reached double-figures for the North, tallying 12 points. Baraboo's Emily Kieck, a Winona State recruit, led the South with 12 points. 

Division 3: North 70, South 66

North outscored South 24-15 in the fourth quarter to earn a 70-66 comeback win in the Division 3 WBCA All-Star Game. Northland Pines' Lexi Smith, a Northern Michigan recruit, finished with a team-high 16 points to lead the North. Wrightstown's Alisha Murphy (UW-Parkside recruit) and Little Chute's Tess Keyzers each added 13 points for the North. Richland Center's Brooklyn Liegel, a Minnesota State Moorehead recruit, finished with a game-high 17 points for the South. 

Division 4: South 86, North 62

South outscored the North by twenty points in the middle quarters and rolled to an 86-62 victory in the all-star game. Mineral Point's Sydney Staver, a UW-Milwaukee recruit, finished with a game-high 17 points for the South. Lourdes Academy's Katie Van Scyoc, a Drake recruit, added 15 points. Iola-Scandinavia's Leighton Fischer led the North with 13 points. 

Division 5: South 78, North 69

South outscored the North 25-11 and held off a rally by the North to win the D5 WBCA All-Star Game 78-69. Barneveld's Teegan Pickarts led the way with 15 points, including 5 three-pointers for the South. Shullsburg's Hattie Rennert (14 points), Rio's Paige Schneider (11), and Randolph's Morgan Paul (10) also scored in double-figured. The North was led in scoring by Loyal's Morgan Reinwand who tallied a game-high 16 points.
