WisSports.net Week 3 Player of the Week Nominees:

Brad Dati, Brookfield East -- Muskego handed Arrowhead one of the worst losses in program history in Week 2, defeating the Warhawks 59-14. The Warriors deservedly got a ton of hype, but that was short-lived, as Brookfield East knocked off Muskego 27-17 on Friday night. The Warriors put up some good numbers on offense, but couldn't muster the kind of point totals they had so far this year. B'East linebacker Brad Dati had a big hand in that, leading the team with 13 tackles, including 2 tackles for loss.

Javian Dayne, Waunakee -- The Warriors have been on a roll this season, scoring at least 40 points in each game. That includes Friday night's 42-20 win over a ranked Mount Horeb/Barneveld team. Dayne got the team on the board first with a two-yard scoring plunge in the first quarter, and added another score in the fourth to help put it away. He had a workman-like performance, carrying the ball 38 times for 190 yards and those two touchdowns.

Dylan Fagerland, Watertown -- Watertown senior quarterback Dylan Fagerland threw for 3,550 yards and 35 touchdowns last season, and he's off to an even better start in 2017. In a 59-43 win over Fort Atkinson, Fagerland had a game for the record books, completing 34 of 46 passes for 573 yards and 8 touchdowns. The 8 passing scores ties the state record set by Xavier's Matt Ferris in 2013, while his yardage total is third all-time in state history. Fagerland is already over 1,000 passing yards on the season after just three games.

Parker Fermanich, New London -- The Bulldogs haven't been to the WIAA postseason since 2009, but the team took a big step in the right direction on Friday with a 35-14 win over perennial contender Waupaca. Fermanich caught three first-half touchdowns to stake New London to a big halftime lead, finishing with 7 catches for 223 yards and three scores.

L.J. Schmelzer, Stanley-Boyd -- The Orioles have faced a grueling early schedule, with wins over Stratford and Regis to start the year, followed by a 29-12 victory against D5 #3 Spencer/Columbus Catholic on Friday. Spencer/Columbus Catholic led 12-7 after a Hunter Luepke touchdown in the third quarter, but Stanley-Boyd ripped off the final 22 points of the game, all coming on scores accounted for by Schmelzer. He finished 9-for-16 with 90 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air, adding 58 yards and two scores on the ground as well.
