Week 4 Team of the Week Nominees:

Beloit Memorial -- It has been an uphill climb for head coach Rodney Wedig since taking over the Beloit Memorial football program after the 2013 season. That 2013 season marked the last time the Purple Knights were victorious in the Big Eight Conference, as the league losing streak had hit 33 games. That all changed Friday night however, as Beloit pulled away in the second half to defeat Madison East 26-6. Curtis Luther threw for 104 yards and 1 touchdown on just seven attempts, while Kyle Hereford, Jr. rushed for 114 yards and a pair of scores in the win.

Bloomer -- Bloomer jumped out to a 22-0 halftime lead over rival Northwestern on Friday before cruising home for a 30-16 victory that kept the Blackhawks in a tie for first place in the Heart O'North Conference. The team put up 208 rushing yards, but no single player had more than 66, as five backs took turns carrying the ball. The defense held Northwestern to 220 yards of offense, intercepting quarterback Kade Bartelt once. Zach Ruff had 204 yards of total offense, including a 57-yard touchdown pass to Paul Schumacher with 30 seconds left in the first half.

Bonduel -- The CWC-Large is extremely competitive this year, with teams chasing two-time defending champion Amherst. Two of the top contenders met up Friday in Iola, as the host Thunderbirds of Iola-Scandinavia welcomed in Bonduel. Both teams were undefeated and ranked in the WisSports.net Coaches Poll. Bonduel took control early and posted an impressive 47-20 victory, racking up 440 rushing yards in the game. Eli Masty had 233 of those (and a pair of scores), while Jordan Boldt finished with 99 yards.

Saint Croix Central -- The Panthers may have won a Division 4 state title last year, but the team lost three tight ballgames in the Middle Border Conference during the regular season. Division 4 top-ranked Saint Croix Central avenged one of those defeats, getting past D3 #9 New Richmond 21-14 on Friday night. The teams went back and forth a bit early on, but SCC took a 14-0 at halftime before going up 21-0 early in the fourth quarter, needing to hold off a late Tigers rally. Keagen Berg led a strong rushing performance by the team, going for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns on 28 carries.

Wisconsin Heights -- Abundant Life/St. Ambrose had won 16 straight conference games and 12 consecutive games overall after claiming an unofficial 8-Man Football state title at last season's Jamboree. Both streaks came to an end on Saturday at the hands of Wisconsin Heights. In a wild game that saw Heights rally from a 12 points deficit with less than six minutes remaining, the Vanguards got a touchdown run from Thomas Muschitz in overtime to secure a 56-48 victory. Muschitz finished with 102 rushing yards to go with 176 passing yards and 4 passing scores, while Payton Flamme added 89 yards and one score on the ground.
