As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Week 5 Game of the Week: Homestead (4-0, 4-0; D2 #4) at Whitefish Bay (4-0, 4-0; D3 #3) -- Thursday, 7 pm

Homestead is on one of the most incredible streaks in state history, winning at least a share of 16 consecutive North Shore Conference titles. Every year, it seems there's one team best suited to try to topple the Highlanders, and while some have forced ties in the standings at the end of the year, none has completely wrestled control of the league away from Homestead. A very talented, senior-dominated Whitefish Bay squad would seem best positioned to challenge the Highlanders this season. The Blue Dukes were second in the league last year, dropping a head-to-head battle with Homestead by a final of 29-12. The Whitefish Bay offense features a dynamic quarterback in Cade Garcia, who has 11 touchdown passes already, along with one of the top receivers in the state in Alex Anthony. Also, four different players have at least 175 rushing yards for head coach Jake Wolter. Homestead features a strong rushing attack once again, led by senior Bradley Woldt, who has 413 yards and 6 touchdowns on just 51 carries. Is this the year someone finally ends Homestead's streak, and is Whitefish Bay the one to get it done?
