Week 5 Passing Leaders

Cumberland senior Kobe Berghammer continued his outstanding 2017 campaign with another big game on Friday night, albeit in a 58-38 loss to Bloomer. He completed 31 of 52 passes for 515 yards and 5 touchdowns. It is the second time this season that Berghammer has thrown for more than 500 yards, as he put up 531 in a loss to Grantsburg back in Week 1. He now has two of the top 15 passing yardage performances in state history.

Oregon and Sturgeon Bay won by identical 41-6 scores last week, as the Panthers took down Milton, while the Clippers got past Coleman. Fittingly, players from those teams tied for the most receiving yards this week. Oregon's Kardelle Phillips hauled in 6 passes for 219 yards and one score. Sturgeon Bay's Jared Van Bramer also caught 6 passes for 219 yards, with two touchdowns. Notably, Xavier's Sam Ferris caught 18 passes for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns, as his single-game reception number ties for second in state history.
