As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Week 6 Game of the Week: Bay Port (5-0, 5-0; D1 #4) at Notre Dame (5-0, 5-0; D3 #1) -- Friday, 7 pm

Despite significant graduation losses from a core group that appeared in two straight Division 3 state title games and dealing with the off-season death of former coach John Nowak, the Notre Dame Tritons have continued to thrive under first year coach Michael Rader. The team is unbeaten through the first five weeks, though the schedule becomes significantly more difficult the rest of the way. Notre Dame has not played a team with a current winning record, but faces 5-0 Bay Port, 4-1 Green Bay Preble, and 5-0 Green Bay Southwest in the next three games. Bay Port is the defending FRCC champion and has been rolling this year, averaging a state-best 55 points per game. A balanced rushing attack gets a number of players involved, though none averaged 100 yards per game on the ground. The FRCC is very top-heavy this year, with these teams joining Preble and Southwest as a pretty clear top four right now. The winner of this one ensures they'll remain on top of the standings for at least another week.
