The New London Bulldogs have been selected as the Week 5 Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team got a program-defining win over Bay Conference power Menasha on Friday. The Bulldogs were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 5. A total of 2,490 votes were cast, as New London's 1,335 votes edged Wrightstown's 365 votes.

In 2015, New London went 0-9 and lost to Menasha by a final score of 83-10, giving up 559 rushing yards. Many of the New London players that took the field last Friday against Menasha were part of that group, and the exhilaration of a 21-20 overtime win against the Bluejays had to be special. Tied at 14 heading into the extra period, New London scored first and kicked the extra point. Menasha would reach the end zone on their possession, but New London stuffed an outside option play for the improbable victory, perhaps the upset of the entire season. Jack Noffke threw for 161 yards while rushing for three scores.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 6 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
