The Fall River Pirates have been selected as the Week 6 Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team handed Johnson Creek its first loss of the season on Friday. The Pirates were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 6. A total of 3,958 votes were cast, as Fall River's 1,483 votes edged Prairie du Chien's 1,408 votes.

The Pirates took over sole possession of first place in the Trailways-Small on Friday, knocking off previously unbeaten Johnson Creek 15-6. Johnson Creek entered the game averaging 44 points per game, but the Pirates' defense proved to be very strong, helped by the return of linebacker Sam Nelson, who recorded 19 tackles as the unit held the Bluejays to just 144 total yards of offense.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 7 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
