WisSports.net Week 8 Player of the Week Nominees:

Noah Allan, Wauzeka/Seneca - Ithaca had won the last three Ridge & Valley Conference titles in outright fashion, but it appears we'll have a new league championship this season, as Wauzeka/Seneca knocked off the Bulldogs 21-7 to clinch at least a share of the league title with one game left. Allen had a number of big runs, going for 172 yards and two touchdowns on just 13 carries in the game. He added a forced fumble and interception on defense as well.

Joe Garcia III, Racine Horlick - In the WSN Game of the Week, Horlick jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead on fellow unbeaten Franklin, and held on for a 21-7 victory to take over sole possession of first place in the Southeast Conference. Garcia opened the scoring with a 42-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter, and added an insurance score in the third quarter. He finished with 130 yards and touchdowns on 20 carries.

Peter MacCudden, Waukesha West - The Wolverines clinched at least a share of the Classic Eight title and MacCudden continued his strong season as the team beat Muskego 31-6. A strong contender for WFCA Offensive Player of the Year, MacCudden carried the ball 30 times for 248 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw a 27-yard score to Tyler Leitner in the first quarter on a halfback option pass. He also had seven tackles on defense.

Alec Ogden, Monona Grove - The weather didn't stop Monona Grove and Stoughton from putting up ridiculous offensive numbers on Friday. In the first quarter, the teams scored a total of five touchdowns in less than two minutes of game action, and six combined scores in just over four minutes of action. The pace didn't slow much, as Monona Grove scored a 63-35 victory to clinch at least a share of the Badger-South title. Ogden was brilliant, completing 12 of 23 passes for 197 yards and 5 touchdowns, adding 10 carries for 85 yards and a score on the ground as well. He now has 25 touchdown passes and just two interceptions this season.

Draven Peeples, Sun Prairie - Peeples, a First Team All-Conference pick last year, missed a couple games early in the season, but is beginning to round into form. In a 31-9 win over Verona that guarantees the Cardinals at least a share of the league title, he had 24 carries for 173 yards and a touchdown. Peeples also caught a first quarter score, finishing with two catches for 58 yards.
