Many high school football standouts in Wisconsin go on to big things at the college level and in the pros, and this is our spot to recognize those athletes each week and help you keep up with what is going down on some of your favorite players from the past. If you have alumni news, please send it to Colton Wilson by 4 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Alumni Update

The former Menomonie quarterback threw for 247 yards and 3 more touchdowns as the Hawkeyes dismantled the University of Illinois 45-16. Stanley ranks in the top 5 in the Big Ten in passing yards, touchdowns, quarterback rating, and yards per attempt.

Western Illinois quarterback Sean McGuire is no stranger to big games as well this year. The Franklin alumnus threw for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in the team’s 38-29 win over Northern Iowa. His performance earned him his second Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) Offensive Player of the Week honors. Teammate Rickey Neal (Racine Horlick) recorded 7 tackles and 2 sacks for Northern Iowa.

Two other Missouri Valley players continued their years of excellence for their respected teams.
