Week 9 Team of the Week Nominees:

Iowa-Grant - The Panthers absolutely, positively, hand to get a win on Friday night to make the postseason, but the opponent was the Cuba City Cubans, who entered unbeaten in conference play. The game was tied at 7 at halftime, remaining that way until the fourth quarter, when Iowa-Grant got a score and ended up holding on for a 13-7 victory to make the postseason. Brady Peat ground out a tough 158 yards and 2 touchdowns on 41 carries.

Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian - In his first year at the helm, Chris Zablocki has guided the Kohler co-op back into the postseason thanks to a 31-13 win over Mishicot Friday night. Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian trailed 13-12 at halftime, but Levi Modahl scored from 54-yards out on the first play of the second half and the team added two more scores in the fourth quarter to salt away the victory and make the playoffs.

Nicolet - Nicolet was forced to cancel its varsity football season just three years ago, and the program is still trying to recover. It was just one game, and it turns out to be the only win of the year, but the Knights did end a 41-game conference losing streak and 16-game overall losing streak on Friday. Against Cedarburg, a playoff team last year that took quite a hit this season, Nicolet got a 10-yard touchdown run from Carson Trimborn in the fourth quarter to score a 21-14 victory. Trimborn finished with 120 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.

River Valley - What a rollercoaster season it has been for the Blackhawks, who are coming off a state runner-up finish in Division 2. Against a tough schedule, the Blackhawks dropped games to Onalaska, G-E-T, and Lancaster in the first half of the year. They righted the ship in dominating wins over Dodgeville and Richland Center, but then were shutout 34-0 in Week 8 against Platteville. That set the stage for a must-win game at Prairie du Chien in Week 9. River Valley got it done in a big way, winning 40-0 to clinch a postseason spot.

Stevens Point - The Panthers were a state semi-finalist last year and ranked in the preseason top five, but stumbled out of the gates, and found themselves in a must-win situation against VFA-South leading Fond du Lac, ranked fifth in Division 1. SPASH rose to the challenge, leading 13-10 heading into the fourth quarter. It was a wild finish, as the team's combined for four touchdowns in the final six minutes. Fond du Lac took a 24-20 lead with just over two minutes remaining, but Stevens Point was able to answer, scoring on a Brady Woyak to Dayne Hoyord 11-yard touchdown pass with just ten seconds remaining for a 26-24 win and postseason appearance.
