The Kettle Moraine Lasers have been selected as the Level 1 Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team scored a road win over Verona to advance to Level 2. The Lasers were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 1. A total of 4,026 votes were cast, as Kettle Moraine's 1,357 votes edged Pulaski's 1,025 votes.

In was an inauspicious start for head coach Justin Gumm's team, as Verona scored a quick touchdown to go up 7-0, then took advantage of a Kettle Moraine turnover to add a field goal for a 10-0 lead less than three minutes into the game. The Lasers stayed the course however, and Mike Timm scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns as Kettle Moraine would win 28-19 to advance to take on top-seeded and unbeaten Sun Prairie.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 2 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
