WisSports.net Level 2 Player of the Week Nominees:
Ben Dunkleberger, Lake Mills - In a showdown of a couple elite dual-threat quarterbacks, Dunkleberger reigned supreme, as the L-Cats up-ended second-seeded and previously unbeaten Racine St. Catherine's 30-13. Dunkleberger would throw for 101 yards and a touchdown, adding 118 yards and 3 scores on the ground.
Marcus Glodowski, Amherst - Amherst had no problems with a very good Spencer/Columbus Catholic team on Friday, racing to a 49-18 victory. Glowdowski completed seven of 14 passes for 85 yards, but did the most damage with his legs, finishing with 274 yards and 5 touchdowns on just 17 carries.
Michael Gregoire, Notre Dame - It was a grind-'em-out kind of game between Notre Dame and unbeaten Kewaskum on Friday night, as all the scoring came in the second quarter of a 12-7 Notre Dame victory. Gregoire accounted for both scores for the Tritons, finishing with 28 carries for 105 yards to go with four receptions for 32 yards.
Hunter Houde, Unity - Unity stayed alive in the Division 6 playoffs, knocking off top-seeded Melrose-Mindoro 34-31 thanks to a pair of fourth quarter scores from Houde. His 5-yard touchdown run put the Eagles ahead, and after Melrose-Mindoro re-took the lead, he returned the ensuing kickoff 92 yards for the game-winning touchdown in a 34-31 victory. Houde finished with 31 carries for 133 yards and 3 touchdowns, plus the kick return score.
Justin Parbs, Brookfield East - The defending Division 2 state champions had just one loss this year, but in a strong regional grouping, the Spartans got sent on the road in Level 2 to take on state power Homestead. All the scoring came in the first half as B'East held on for a 28-23 victory. Parbs averaged 8.7 yards per carry, finishing with 174 yards and a touchdown on 20 rush attempts.
