Each week WSN will take a look at the happenings in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference, which includes many of the two-year campuses in the UW system. A look back at the big performances and news from the week before, a look ahead to some of the big games coming up, plus a Player of the Week will be featured.

Looking Back

To the surprise of no one, UW-Marathon was dominant last week. On Wednesday, the Huskies defeated UW-Fond du Lac 88-55, as Morgan Rachu had 29 points, 22 rebounds, 8 steals, and 5 assists. On Saturday, Rachu scored 51 points, making 23 of 27 shots from the field as the Huskies torched Washington 112-40. She added 25 rebounds and 7 steals.

Also on Saturday, UW-Waukesha defeated Barron 77-35, as Justice Hawkins scored a game-high 36 points.

Looking Ahead

There aren't many games on the schedule for the next week, though Marathon does have a pair of contests. Tonight, the Huskies travel to UW-Marinette. On Saturday, Marathon welcomes in Bay College (MI), who gave the Huskies their closest game of the year earlier this month, though Marathon scored a 69-60 victory.

It's one of three games Bay College plays against WCC teams this week. Tonight, UW-Fond du Lac makes the trip to Escanaba. On Sunday, Manitowoc welcomes in the Norse for a non-conference showdown.

WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Morgan Rachu, Marathon

Rachu's dominating season continues, as she scored 29 points, pulled down 22 rebounds, had 8 steals, and 5 assists in an 88-55 win over Fond du Lac. In a 112-40 victory over Washington on Saturday, Rachu poured in a career-high 51 points, making 23-of-27 shots. She added 25 rebounds and 7 steals as well.
