Brown Deer senior Jay Gentry has been selected as the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week for the week of January 29 through February 4 after a vote on WSN.
There were 2,986 votes this week; Gentry received 1,130 of them, while Katelyn Meister of Wisconsin Dells finished second with 631 votes.
Gentry netted a career-best 45 points in the Falcons' win over Cudahy, 101-69, on Saturday. On Tuesday, he scored a team-high 26 points in Brown Deer's 75-71 victory against D2 No. 7 Whitnall.
Gentry, a 6-1 senior guard, is averaging 29.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.6 steals per game for D3 No. 2 Brown Deer, 16-2 overall and 10-1 in the Woodland-East.
