The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017). 

We begin our WSN15 boys' basketball series with the Top 15 Moments of the WSN Era.

Make no mistake, the performance turned in by Sheboygan Lutheran's Sam Dekker over the final 50 seconds of the 2012 WIAA Division 5 state-championship game against Racine Lutheran remains one for the ages.

Still being talked about today with people continuing to shake their heads in disbelief, Dekker scored 12 points during that limited time frame to help his Crusaders rally from an eight-point deficit and record an unlikely 67-66 victory over a Racine Lutheran team that had soundly defeated Dekker's club 73-55 during the Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook Shootout in December of 2011. 

Dekker's nothing-short-of-sensational performance ranks as the No. 1 moment in the Wisconsin Sports Network's countdown of the top 15 moments in boys' high school basketball over the 15 years WSN has been covering the sport in the state. 

Dekker started the remarkable comeback with a three-point basket with 50 seconds left to bring Sheboygan Lutheran within 63-58. After junior Clay Stevens made two foul shots on the other end for Racine Lutheran to make it 65-58, Dekker completed a conventional three-point play to close the gap to 65-61 with 30 ticks left on the clock.

A pair of foul shots went awry for Racine Lutheran, keeping the door open for Dekker and Company.

Dekker promptly came down the court and drilled another three-point basket with 15 seconds left to reduce the deficit to 65-64.

Senior forward Niko Graf split a pair of foul shots for Racine Lutheran with 12 seconds remaining to make it 66-64. 

Dekker then made one of the most famous shots in WIAA State Tournament history.

He took the inbounds pass, dribbled down the right side of the court and let fly with a three-point shot well beyond the arc on the right wing. It swished through the net with six seconds left, giving Sheboygan Lutheran a 67-66 lead and sending the large crowd gathered to watch the future University of Wisconsin star into a complete frenzy.

Racine Lutheran failed to connect in the closing seconds and Sheboygan Lutheran used Dekker's 12-point scoring spree in under a minute to capture the school's first state basketball championship. 

Two days after scoring 35 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, blocking seven shots and handing out four assists in a hard-earned 63-61 victory over McDonell Central Catholic of Chippewa Falls in the Division 5 state semifinals, Dekker turned in a 40-point, 13-rebound, 3-blocked shots performance against Racine Lutheran. 

Now a member of the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA, the 6-foot-8 Dekker turned in three outstanding seasons at Wisconsin, including a pair of Final Four trips, prior to leaving Madison for professional basketball.
