Prescott’s Peter Brookshaw, Waupun’s Marcus Domask, Brown Deer’s Jay Gentry, and Xavier’s Hunter Plamann lead the way as unanimous selections on the 2017-2018 Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 3 All-State Team. Plamann is a repeat selection, while Domask is making the team for a third time.

Brookshaw capped an incredible career in the most perfect way possible, hitting a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer to give Prescott a Division 3 championship. A North Dakota State baseball recruit, he was among state leaders with 30.3 points per game this season, connecting on 58.5% from the floor. The Middle Border Conference Player of the Year, he added 6.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game as the Cardinals went 26-2.

Domask is a three-time WBCA All-State selection, and still has one season left. Already at 1,575 career points, he averaged 22.8 per game last season. Domask helped the Warriors to a state title as a freshman in 2016 for his father, Dan.

Gentry was an Honorable Mention All-State pick in Division 2 last season and helped the Falcons to a share of the Woodland-East Conference title this year. A strong 6’1” guard, Gentry led the team in points (29.3), rebounds (6.7), and assists (3.5) per game as a senior, as Brown Deer finished 20-4 on the season.

Plamann repeats as a First Team All-State selection, as the Hawks won 53 straight games since the start of 2017-18, including a Division 3 state title last year, before a surprising Sectional Final setback against Valders. Plamann finished as the leading scorer in school history with 1,750 points, averaging 21.8 per game as a senior to go with 5.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 3.1 steals per contest.

A two-time First Team All-Conference choice, Black River Falls senior Ethan Anderson departs as one of the best players in school history. Anderson averaged 27.6 points per game as a senior, finishing his illustrious career with 1,826 points. He also averaged 10.6 rebounds per game in 2017-18 and added 3.0 assists per contest.

Wisconsin Dells senior Tanner Brandt helped the Chiefs to the Sectional Finals this season as the Player of the Year in the South Central Conference. The 6’7” UW-Parkside recruit led the league in scoring (18.5 points per game) and rebounding (8.6).

Gacoby Jones of Dominican was a bench player as a freshman when the Knights won a state title, and a starter the following season when they capped a run of five straight championships. Jones averaged 20.3 points per game this season with 5.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest.

Laconia’s Jaylen Mahone did a lot of everything as the Spartans finished with a 17-8 record this season. A three-time First Team All-Conference selection, the 6’1” senior guard led the team in scoring at 23.8 points per game, and in rebounds (6.3), assists (3.1).

Kyle Tuma of Valders had a huge state tournament, scoring 59 points in two games, though the Vikings came up just short of a title. A two-time First Team All-Conference selection in the Eastern Wisconsin, the 6’5” UW-Platteville recruit averaged 16.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game as a senior.

AJ Vukovich of East Troy is the lone sophomore on the Division 3 All-State list, as he helped the Trojans to a Rock Valley Conference title, 21-6 overall record against a challenging schedule, and trip to the state tournament. Committed to Louisville for baseball, he averaged 20.7 points per game this season to take home Player of the Year honors in the conference.
