Bailey Blanchard of Clear Lake, J.C. Butler of The Prairie School, and Jaden Kreklow of New Glarus are unanimous selections on the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 4 All-State Team for the 2017-18 season. Butler and Mitchell Schneider of Roncalli are the lone repeat selections.

Blanchard was the catalyst for Clear Lake’s unbeaten regular season and first state tournament trip since 1972. The 6’4” forward displayed outstanding versatility, and led the team with 19.3 points per game. The junior also added 7.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for the Warriors.

Butler took home Player of the Year honors in the Metro Classic Conference for a second straight season, repeating on the WBCA All-State list. The senior UC-Irvine recruit helped the Hawks to a league championship and finishes his career with 2,090 points, averaging 26 per game each of the last two seasons.

Kreklow is a two-time First Team All-Conference choice in the Capitol-South and still has one more season remaining. The 5’10” junior guard helped the Glarner Knights to an unbeaten regular season and trip into sectionals, averaging 20.3 points per game this year.

Schneider played a big role in Roncalli’s Division 4 state championship this season, earning First Team All-Conference for a second straight season. The Jets finished third in a very tough Eastern Wisconsin Conference this year, but turned it on in the postseason for the title, as Schneider averaged 18.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

Diovonte Caldwell of Destiny was a key reserve on last season’s squad that took home a Division 4 state championship. His role expanded as a senior, where the 6’3” guard became the go-to scorer for the Eagles, averaging better than 18 points per game as the team finished 18-6.

Brayden Dailey of Mineral Point is the only freshman on the Division 4 WBCA All-State Team, but is very deserving. A First Team All-Conference choice in his debut season, he led the SWAL in scoring at 21.3 points per game. The 6’5” wing player is one of the top college prospects in the 2021 class.

Chombi Lambert of Roncalli was one of the most dynamic players at the state tournament, helping the Jets to a Division 4 championship. A unanimous First Team All-Conference pick, the 5’9” junior point guard scored 32 points in the state semi-finals and 21 in the championship game. For the season he averaged 20.4 per contest.

Isaac Lindsey of Mineral Point is only a sophomore, but the 6’3” lead guard has a maturity to his game that finds him always under control and making the right play for his teammates. The SWAL Player of the Year, he averaged 18.9 points per game as the Pointers won a league championship and advanced to the sectional finals.

Logan Mulhern of Osseo-Fairchild was named the Player of the Year in the Cloverbelt-West Conference after helping the Thunder to an outright league championship. The 6’2” junior guard averaged 23 points per game for Tim Popple, adding more than 12 rebounds and nearly 5 assists per game as well.

Eric Reinemann of Howards Grove helped the Tigers to an outright league championship in the Big East Conference this season, earning Player of the Year accolades. A Second Team All-Conference choice a year ago, he stepped his game up even more as a senior, averaging 18 points and 9.9 rebounds per game as a senior.

Gunner Wilder from Cameron was part of the Comets’ state tournament teams in 2016 and 2017, and was named the Player of the Year in the Lakeland-Central as a senior in helping the team to an 18-6 record. The 6’3” senior guard averaged 26.2 points per game, shooting 41% from three and 83% from the free throw line.
