The top senior Infielder or Catcher does a little bit of everything to help his team win. Infielders must possess outstanding quickness and instincts to get to balls and make the difficult play look routine. Whether gunning down runners from the left side of the infield, making the double-play turn at second, or scooping low throws at first, an infielder must be an asset to his team. Catchers control the game from their spot behind homeplate, often calling pitches on top of their other duties. They are willing to sacrifice their body to block balls in the dirt and can also control opponent's on the basepaths with pinpoint throws to second on steal attempts. No matter their position, the top Infielder or Catcher must be a threat at the plate. They hit for an oustanding average, show a keen eye at the plate, and produce runs no matter what it takes, striking fear into opposing pitchers.
