ESPN Articles On Packers - Thursday, November 05, 2009 12:13 AM ( #1 )
I saw these today at lunch and wondered what wissports nation felt about them...I for one am in complete agreement that the coaching is more at fault then the players...sure players have to make plays...but sometimes the right play has to be called for it to be successful as well...I like that some of the defenders are voicing their opinions...and the TT haters will like the other article as well so theres something for everyone in these articles

Unless they make a turnaround that no one sees coming I'm gonna say maybe it's time to toss both McCarthy and Thompson and get Mike Holmgren as the GM (he said he always wanted to be one) and hire Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan as head coach (Cowher is coming out of retirement and if Shanahan ever found another coaching job it sure wasn't in head coaching). But let's see how this season turns out first. As far as assistants go, leave Dom Capers in at D Coordinator, let Joe Philbin have at least one more year at O Coordinator, and leave Slocum in at ST Coordinator. As far as player changes go, we need to make wholesale changes at O-Line and see if we can trade Korey Hall as it appears he's gonna eventually be replaced by Quinn Johnson and John Kuhn has made some noise so far this season.
The plot thickens...

Two best times: Game time and Trevor Time

Thompson and the coach are going nowhere .

TED THOMPSON,  the man most responsible for holding the PACKERS back from the greatness they deserved the last 3 years (counting this year). After this year though it will be...TT BYE BYE.

Falling:

1. Ted Thompson, Green Bay general manager: It wasn’t a good week to be the Packers' official ultimately responsible for sending quarterback Brett Favre on his way. Favre has led an NFC North rival to a 7-1 start, and in the process he has nearly eliminated the Packers from contention for a division title. Thompson’s own roster has proved dangerously thin at some positions, most notably offensive line and running back. The situation has prompted the midseason signings of veteran free agents Mark Tauscher and Ahman Green. For a personnel chief who prides himself on developing his own young depth, both were revealing moves. Thompson’s narrow philosophy of team-building is being tested.

Hilarious quote from Bill Simmons:

"By the way, Aaron Rodgers is this year's Great Game Against A Bad Team MVP. His stats have no correlation with his actual effectiveness. Even Al Bundy didn't hold his balls this long."

One must wonder what the heck Ted is doing?  I read in the journal sentinal yesterday that he put a claim on Anthony Smith.  The same Smith that was cut earlier in the pre-season!!  Many of us thought it was a mistake for him to be cut months ago.  http://www.jsonline.com...ts/packers/69440947.html

Well, i dont know what happened in St Louis, but apparently he wasnt good enough to play there.  SO maybe Teddy made a good decision there.  (mearly speculation, id rather not get into whether it was good or bad)

The rumored reason he was cut was because McCarthy didn't like him.

I heard about it on sports radio a few months ago.  I know that could mean jack, which is why I said rumored.  If you read into it Charles Woodson is very critical of him being cut.  Listen to his post game audio after the first packer-viking game on packers.com.  The only reason I bring it up is why is Ted second guessing himself.  If the guy wasn't good enough to be on the team a couple months ago, why would he be good enough now?

Maybe because Martin is now hurt.
