1)  De Pere
What we said then:  De Pere returns six of their top 7 scorers from last year's squad that gave eventual champ Nicolet a run for their money in a Super Tuesday loss.  This year's version of the Red Birds will once again have great depth and will be led by returning leading scorer Alyana Carter.  A mainstay atop polls over the past few seasons, De Pere has just 16 losses in the past 7 seasons.

How the season has gone so far:  The Redbirds struggled out of the gates, starting just 4-4 against a pretty tough early schedule. They've got things headed in the right direction now however, winning 12 straight games while holding a two-game lead in the FRCC standings. They sport a 16-4 overall mark and are currently ranked #14.

DIVISION 2

1) New London
What we said then:  The Bulldogs return a good chunk of the squad that won the D2 state title last season.  Returning first team all-conference performers Tara Knapstein and Bridget Pethke lead the way.  If they can develop their depth and get some scoring out of the post they could be back in Madison in March.

How the season has gone so far:  New London has not wavered all season, as they are 20-0 and have been ranked #1 in the Coaches Poll every week. Knapstein and Pethke are providing outstanding veteran leadership and production, and the team has used a solid defense to suffocate opponents.
