Last Monday, the United States Military Academy made their first known scholarship offer to a state prospect when they offered Arrowhead kicker Jeff Budzien. Well it appears Army isn't the only service academy trying to strike it rich in Wisconsin as the United States Air Force Academy has now staked their claim in the Dairy State.

In an e-mail sent Monday evening to WisFootball.net, Big Foot offensive lineman/defensive lineman Travis Frederick (6-4, 310) said, “Just wanted to update you on some recruiting info. I talked to coach Matt Weikert of the Air Force Academy today and he extended me a full scholarship offer.”

The offer is Frederick's first and the first known offer Air Force has made to a Wisconsin athlete this recruiting cycle.

In addition to Air Force, Frederick is also hearing from Wisconsin, Kansas State, Duke, Colorado, Ball State, Minnesota, UNLV, Indiana, Purdue, Stanford, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Army, Tennessee, Ohio State and Michigan.

A starter as a sophomore, Frederick garnered a host of honors in 2006 including Milwaukee Journal Sentinel honorable-mention all-state, Wisconsin State Journal honorable-mention all-area, all-Walworth County, first-team all-conference and Rock Valley Conference Lineman of the Year. He also earned all-Walworth County and first-team all-conference laurels on the defensive line.

He then added even more accolades to his collection in 2007 after being named WFCA first-team all-state, Associated Press second-team all-state, Wisconsin State Journal first-team all-area, first-team all-conference and Rock Valley Conference Lineman of the Year. He also added to his defensive honors, receiving WFCA honorable-mention all-state and first-team all-conference honors after totaling 53 tackles and 12 tackles for loss.

Frederick reported a 5.4-second 40-yard dash, 365-pound bench press, and 600-pound squat.
