MAC school offers Brookfield Central's Xavier Whitaker

Quickly making a strong argument to be considered the state's No. 1 running back prospect from the class of 2010, Brookfield Central's
Xavier Whitaker (6-3, 200) picked up his fourth Division I scholarship offer on Tuesday thanks to a member of the Mid-American Conference.
“Buffalo offered me today,” Whitaker told WisFootball.net Tuesday evening.
“They have been talking to me for a while. The only thing that stopped them from offering me earlier was because I didn't get my ACT scores back. When I got them back I called Coach (William) Lund, and told him my score, and he told me all he had to do was check with Coach Turner (Gill). And today, they called my coach and told him that they are offering me a full ride,” he explained.
Whitaker had previously garnered scholarship offers from Indiana, Eastern Illinois and Illinois State. In addition, looks have come from Wisconsin, Eastern Michigan, Alabama, Memphis, Louisville and North Dakota State.
A school mentioned as showing interest in a number of state prospects over the past few recruiting cycles, Whitaker is the first known prospect to actually receive an offer from the Buffalo Bulls.
Buffalo graduate assistant coach William Lund is an Iola-Scandinavia High School and Lawrence University graduate, so look from the Bulls to continue to show interest in Badger State players as long as he is a member of the school's coaching staff.
Whitaker totaled 116 carries for 872 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior in route to earning CNI Newspapers high honorable-mention all-suburban,
Waukesha Freeman first-team all-Waukesha County, first-team all-conference and Greater Metro Conference Co-Offensive Back of the Year honors.
