Trotter twins add Big Ten offer to list

Make it another Big Ten scholarship offer for Milwaukee Marquette defensive back Michael Trotter (6-0, 200) and the first for twin brother and linebacker Marcus Trotter (6-1, 220).

With Michael already boasting six scholarship offers (Wisconsin, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Northern Iowa, North Dakota, Illinois State), and Marcus listing three (Northern Iowa, North Dakota, Illinois State) the dynamic duo each picked up an offer from Indiana University on Tuesday afternoon.

“We both got offered today by Indiana,” Marcus Trotter told WisFootball.net.

“We attended their one-day camp and after it the coaches asked for us to hang around. We took a tour and met some players. We were so surprised of how nice and pretty the campus was. It was very nice and there were a lot of trees. It’s a huge school, but has the campus feel to it,” Trotter explained.

The Trotter’s are the seventh and eighth known state prospects to receive a scholarship from the Hoosiers joining Brookfield Central running back Xavier Whitaker (Indiana verbal), Brookfield Central defensive tackle Bryce Gilbert (Wisconsin verbal), Brookfield Central running back Jeff Lewis, La Crosse Logan offensive lineman Matt Eggen, Whitefish Bay punter Will Hagerup and Kimberly defensive end Mike Hardy.

In addition to their current scholarship offers, the Trotter twins have also received recruiting interest from Purdue, Michigan State, Iowa, Akron, Northern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Vanderbilt, Duke, Maryland, UCLA, Arkansas, Colorado, Southern Illinois, South Dakota State and North Dakota State.

Named honorable-mention all-conference as a sophomore, Michael Trotter received Milwaukee Journal Sentinel honorable-mention all-area and first-team all-conference honors following his junior season. He is ranked as the No. 1 defensive back in the state's class of 2010.

Meanwhile, brother Marcus Trotter, the No. 2 ranked linebacker in the state's class of 2010, was named a first-team all-conference selection as a junior.
