Schmaltz & Racino to Team USA for Five Nations & Select 17 Update

It has been rumored that Wisconsin native and UW defensive recruit Jordan Schmaltz has been selected for the roster of the USA Hockey's U-17 squad that will play for the Five Nations Cup in Germany in August. I also received information today that forward Alex Racino of Merrill, Wisconsin has made the squad. There has not been an official announcement yet from USA Hockey on the team, but I'll have it posted when it comes out.
The
Select 17 Tournament got underway today in Lake Placid, New York. Four Wisconsin players are in attendance and three of the four put points up on the first day. Unfortunately, that accomplishment has a little bit of the shine taken off of it when you consider that the least number of goals scored by any of the eight teams today was four, and that the games
averaged just under 13 goals per game. Here's the stats:
D-Aaron Harstad-SPASH/TW Major/GB Gamblers USHL (Red)-No stats in 7-6 shootout win
D Jose Delgadillo-Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (Orange)-1 assist in 8-4 win
F-Garrett Allen-Milwaukee Jr. Admirals (Orange)-1 goal & 2 assists in 8-4 win
F Chris Eick-GB Jr. Gamblers Midget Major (Forest Green)-1 goal & 1 penalty in 6-5 loss
