The Living Word Timberwolves came into today’s match with a 3-1-0 record, recording their first lost to Sheboygan Christian last week Thursday. The Timberwolves bounced back in a big way blasting Messmer 9-0 in LW’s first conference match of the season. Chris Lane started the charge a minute into the game scoring the first goal off a beautiful cross from Aaron Wenzel. It was that goal that definitely defined how the rest of the night was going to play out for the Timberwolves. The first of Daniel Axtman’s 5 goals came in the 15th minute of play when Ryan Senkbeil took the first corner kick of the match and sent the ball into the 6 yard box for Daniel Axtman to head, sending it into the back of the net. A few minutes later, Peter Hoppe was served a great pass from Joel Komurka in the defensive line, and the Timberwolves scored again. Junior Kirk Reiter scored his first goal of the season with an unassisted 20 yard boot from the left side. The second half of the match was the Axtman show. He scored 4 more goals, two of which were direct kicks about 25 yards outside of the goal. In the final minutes of play, Daniel connected with Josh Senkbeil who found the back of the net. Overall, Daniel Axtman led the team with 5 goals and 2 assists. LW Goalkeeper John Winter had 12 saves and recorded his 3 shut-out of the season.
