Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament.

Trequan Carrington

Trequan Carrington, 5-10, G, Martin Luther
Perhaps the quickest player in the state with the ball in his hands, Carrington has been unstoppable at times this season for Martin Luther, which shared the Metro Classic Conference title with Racine St. Catherine's with a 15-1 league mark. Carrington scored 32 points in an impressive non-league win over Minneapolis North and had 29 in a league win over Dominican. He also had 11 assists for the Spartans in their 79-64 win over Waupun in December. Carrington is on the small side, but his shiftiness and quickness make him incredibly hard to guard. He is averaging 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists for coach Paul Wollersheim and the Spartans, who take a 21-3 record into their WIAA Division 3 sectional semifinal game with St. Catherine's, also 21-3, on Thursday.

Donneil Gray

Donneil Gray, 5-10, PG, Madison La Follette
The leader for a Madison La Follette program that finished second in the Big Eight Conference behind Madison East, Gray's strong all-around play has elevated the Lancers' program the past two seasons. He is averaging 14.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists for La Follette, which takes a 19-5 record into Thursday's WIAA Division 1 sectional semifinal contest with Waunakee. Gray's defensive ability on the perimeter and his decision making with the ball in his hands has helped transform the La Follette program into one of the better in the Big Eight under coach Curtrel Robinson. The Lancers have won 38 games the past two seasons compared with 12 in the prior two years.

Nate Jenkins

Nate Jenkins, 6-2, PG, Kettle Moraine
Jenkins, who plans to walk on to the men's basketball program at Iowa State in the fall, has been a solid performer for coach Brad Bestor and the Lasers in each of the past four seasons. As a senior, Jenkins has been able to utilize his superior physical strength to get where he wants to on the court to either score or set up his teammates with his strong passing ability. Jenkins is averaging 18.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game for Kettle Moraine, which finished third in the Classic Eight Conference standings and takes a 15-9 record into its WIAA Division 1 sectional semifinal game Thursday evening with league-rival Waukesha West.

Will Mahoney

Will Mahoney, 6-2, PG, Appleton West
A 1,000-point career scorer at Appleton West, Mahoney has been a terror in the Fox Valley Association in each of the past three seasons. His ability to put pressure on the defense with his scoring from the outside along with his aggressiveness off the bounce is a big reason why Appleton West finished tied for the third in the league standings this winter. Mahoney, who recently committed to NCAA Division III power UW-Oshkosh, is averaging 21.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game for coach Brennan Hussey and the Terrors, who take an 18-6 record into their WIAA Division 1 sectional semifinal game with Hudson on Thursday.

Jaeden Zackery

Jaeden Zackery, 6-3, PG, Westosha Central
Mentally and physically, there isn't a lead guard in Wisconsin with more toughness than Zackery. His will to win and ability to impact a game on so many different levels is evident each time he steps onto the court for coach James Hyllberg and the Falcons. Zackery is averaging 22.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists for Westosha Central, which has won 43 of 49 games the past two seasons and takes a 23-1 mark into Thursday's WIAA Division 2 sectional contest with Southern Lakes Conference rival Elkhorn. In two earlier wins over Elkhorn, Zackery finished with a combined 43 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. One of the stronger candidates for the Mr. Basketball award in the state, Zackery owns a NCAA Division II scholarship offer from Concordia-St. Paul.
