Milwaukee Academy of Science's Shemera Williams has been selected as the top senior Shooter as part of the WSN Senior Basketball Awards

Williams, 5-foot-8 guard, can score from just about everywhere on the floor. She is strong off the dribble and can score in traffic with either hand. Shemera has deep range, which makes guarding her a very difficult task. She is also a very good passer, which gives her teammates many open looks.

The Marquette University recruit is averaging a state-high 33.1 points per game, to go along with 10.3 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 4.5 steals per game for coach Giovanni Riley and the Novas.

Williams is shooting 50.3 percent from the floor, 73.5 percent from the line, and has made 78 three-pointers while shooting over 37 percent from distance.

She has scored 40 or more points three times this season, including a season-best 49 points in a 95-77 win over Milwaukee Hamilton/Audubon in February.

Williams has led the Novas to two trips to the state tournament. As a sophomore to led them to a Division 5 state runner-up finish. MAS plays top-ranked Aquinas in a Division 4 state semi-final Thursday evening.

She enters the state tournament with 3,102 career points, which is second most in state history, 127 points behind South Shore grad Megan Gustafson's all-time mark of 3,229.

Williams also has 950 rebounds, 773 assists and 529 steals in her career.
