Laconia's Kiarra Otto has been selected as the top senior Defensive player as part of the WSN Basketball Awards

Otto's defensive is a big reason why the Spartans are undefeated and in the state tournament for the first time in program history. She is athletic, has quick hands and an excellent leaping ability which allows her to get steals and deflections.

The 5-foot-9 point guard is averaging 16.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 5 steals and a block per game for coach Chris Morgan and the Spartans.

In a Division 3 sectional semifinal win over Waupun (59-42), Otto finished with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks.

The Spartans (26-0) play Freedom (23-3) in a D3 state semifinal on Thursday afternoon.
