WBCA announces Division 1 Girls Basketball All-State Team

Sydnee Roby of Milwaukee King and Natalie McNeal of Germantown highlight the 2019 WBCA all-state team as the lone unanimous selections. 

Repeat selections are Roby, McNeal and Natalie Andersen of Mukwonago. 

Roby led Milwaukee King to a 21-4 record and sectional final appearance. The 6-foot-3 senior averaged 14.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, a steal and 1.8 blocks per game for coach Craig Machut and the Generals. The University of Miami recruit finished her career with over 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds, and helped King to a state tournament appearance as a sophomore. 

McNeal led Germantown to a 21-4 record and sectional appearance. The 5-foot-8 point guard averaged 19 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.8 steals per contest for coach Matt Stuve and the Warhawks as a junior. Natalie holds numerous Division I offers. 

Andersen, an IUPUI recruit, helped lead Mukwonago to three state tournament appearances in her four years, including two state runner-up finishes. The 5-foot-11 wing averaged 17.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.9 steals per game for coach Rick Kolinske and the Indians, a state qualifier this season. 

Grace Beyer, an honorable mention all-state pick last season, helped Mukwonago to a 24-2 record and third trip to the state tournament in her four years. The St. Louis School of Pharmacy recruit averaged 14.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.6 steals per contest for coach Rick Kolinske and the Indians. 

Shea Dechant helped lead Kimberly (23-4) to its first state tournament appearance since 2014. The 5-foot-7 senior guard averaged 14.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game for coach Troy Cullen and the Papermakers. 

Leah Earnest led Stevens Point to an 18-7 record and sectional appearance. The 5-foot-11 Valparaiso recruit finished fifth in the state in scoring with 26.6 points per game. Leah also averaged 13 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2 steals and 1.6 blocks per game for coach Kraig Terpstra and the Panthers. 

Caelan Givens led Chippewa Falls to a 18-6 record. The 6-foot guard and Green Bay recruit averaged 20.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game for coach Becca Bestul and the Cardinals. 

Ashayla Moseberry led Madison East to a sectional appearance and 15-10 overall record. The 5-foot-11 wing averaged 18.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 4 steals and 1.3 blocks per game for coach James Adams and the Purgolders. 

Emma Nagel helped lead Bay Port (27-1) to the Division 1 state title. The 6-foot Drake soccer recruit averaged 13.3 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 3.2 steals per game for coach Kati Coleman and the Pirates. 

Maddie Schires, an honorable mention all-state pick last season, helped Wausau West to a 20-5 record and sectional final appearance as a senior. The 5-foot-8 Youngstown State recruit averaged 19.6 points, 5 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game for WBCA Hall of Fame coach Tom Weinkauf.
