WBCA announces Division 2 Girls Basketball All-State Team

Five players earned unanimous selection to highlight the 2019 Division 2 WBCA all-state team: Sydney Hillard of Monroe, Cassie Schiltz of Luxumburg-Casco, Tara Stauffacher of Beaver Dam, McKenna Warnock of Monona Grove and Maty Wilke of Beaver Dam. 

Hilliard and Warnock are three-time unanimous selections. Stauffacher, Julia Hintz of New Berlin Eisenhower and Jaddan Simmons of Green Bay Southwest are also repeat first-team picks. 

Hilliard led Monroe (21-7) to the Division 2 state runner-up finish this season and three consecutive trips to the state tournament. The 6-foot senior point guard averaged 21.3 points, 8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game for coach Sam Mathiason and the Cheesemakers. The University of Wisconsin recruit finished her career with 1,991 points. 

Schiltz led Luxemburg-Casco to a 20-5 record and sectional appearance this season. The 5-foot-11 guard averaged 22.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.9 blocks per game for coach Jeff Jodar and the Spartans. The Green Bay recruit finished her career with 1,980 points. 

Stauffacher helped lead Beaver Dam to its third consecutive Division 2 state title and 27-1 overall record. The 5-foot-11 senior wing and Wisconsin recruit averaged 11.4 points per game with over 50 three-pointers for coach Tim Chase and the Golden Beavers. In her four years, Beaver Dam went 104-5 with just two in-state losses.  

Warnock, who was named Miss Basketball on Saturday, led Monona Grove to a 20-3 record. The 6-foot-2 wing finished thrid in the state in scoring with 29.7 points per game, to go along with 12.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.7 steals and 2 blocks per contest for coach Tyler Kuehl and the Silver Eagles. The University of Iowa recruit finished her career with 2,311 points. 

Wilke helped lead Beaver Dam to its last two Division 2 state titles, which are part of the Golden Beavers three-peat. The 5-foot-10 guard holds numerous Division I offers, including all four in-state programs. Wilke averaged 13.8 points, 5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game for coach Tim Chase and the Golden Beavers. 

Hintz led New Berlin Eisenhower to a 22-3 record and sectional appearance this season. The Cleveland State recruit averaged 16.4 points, 4.5 assists and 2.9 steals per game for coach Gary Schmidt and the Lions. Hintz helped New Berlin Eisenhower to a state title as a freshman and a state runner-up finish as a junior. 

Simmons averaged 21.4 points per game for coach Erin Barkley and Green Bay Southwest (12-11). The 5-foot-9 point guard holds numerous Division I offers, including all four in-state programs. 

Ellie Clements led Whitefish Bay to a 23-4 record and its first state tournament appearance since 2011. The 6-foot-1 senior averaged 21.1 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.4 blocks per game for coach Jon Schneider and the Blue Dukes. 

Ariel Kirkwood led Milwaukee Vincent to a 15-8 record. The 6-foot guard averaged 25.5 points per game for coach Ashley Birts and the Vikings. She finished her career with 1,429 points. 

Macy McGlone helped lead Hortonville to back-to-back state tournament appearances and a 19-8 overall record this season. The 6-foot-2 Milwaukee recruit averaged 16.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals per contest for coach Celeste Ratka and the Polar Bears.
