WisSports.net is happy to announce the WisSports.net Northern Exposure Classic for boys and girls basketball. Both the boys and girls events will take place on Saturday, July 27th.

This event is aimed at schools in the central and northern part of the state who may find it difficult to attend events in the southern portion of Wisconsin. It also provides our staff a chance to see more teams and athletes from various parts of the state.

These varsity-level tournaments will take place at D.C. Everest High School just outside Wausau, both in the main high school gym and the attached Greenheck Fieldhouse. This event is for community-based teams, not club or AAU teams.

The entry fee is $250 per team. All teams are guaranteed three games. The daily schedule for both boys and girls is expected to go from approximately 9 am until 5 pm. A game schedule will be provided at least two weeks in advance of the tournament, or once all spots are filled.

There are spots for 16 boys teams and 16 girls teams. We expect this to be a very competitive varsity tournament with some of the top teams in the state participating.

With WSN staff in attendance to document all the standout teams and athletes, with considerable reporting on our various social media platforms and multiple articles on WisSports.net, this is one of the elite tournaments of the off-season and is expected to fill up fast. You will not get more wall-to-wall coverage of any summer varsity tournament.

WSN girls basketball writer Norbert Durst will be on hand to cover the girls event, while WisSports.net staff will provide full coverage of the boys event as well. This event will be a significant part of our staff's evaluation process for preseason team and individual rankings. Registration information will be shared with college coaches in attendance.

Please contact WSN Events Director Colton Wilson at colton.wilson@sportsengine.com with any questions about the tournaments.
