Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of April 1 through 7. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Apr. 1-7

Samantha Shaffer, Regis/McDonell Central girls soccer: Samantha had a huge day as the Regis/McDonell Central girls soccer team shut out Arcadia in a 10-0 victory. Samantha scored half of the goals in the win, netting 5 of the team's total.

Trey Gordon, Barneveld baseball: Trey was incredible as Barneveld beat Six Rivers foe Black Hawk 11-0. On the mound, Trey pitched all five innings for the Eagles, pitching his first no-hitter of the season.

Claire Beck, Jefferson softball: In 3 games last week, Claire pitched 14 and 2/3 innings, recording two wins, as Jefferson picked up three victories. In a 10-0 win over Evansville, Claire pitched a 6 inning shut out, while adding a double and home run from the plate. Jefferson then had a double-header with Big Foot in which Claire pitched a 5 inning, 10-0, shutout in game one. She struck out 12, allowed 1 hit, and also added 2 RBI's from the plate. In the second game, she pitched 3 and 2/3 scoreless innings with 7 strikeouts, while going 3 of 3 from the plate with a home run and 4 RBIs.

Ben Labuzetta, Holmen boys track and field: Ben took home first in two events and helped a relay to a first place finish as Holmen took home first place at the Mississippi Valley/Coulee Conference Meet. Ben won the 100 and 200 meter races with times of 11.17 seconds, and 21.82 seconds respectively. He then was on the 400 meter relay team that won with a time of 45.43 seconds.

Brock Hlinak, Kaukauna boys golf: Brock was ahead of the pack and was the medalist at the Fox Cities Boys Metro Meet on Tuesday. He shot a 69 to lead all golfers, finishing 3 strokes ahead of teammate Tyler Cleaves. Kaukauna won the meet behind the stellar play of Brock and his teammates.
