Reece Homan

Name: Reece Homan

School: Waupun

Grade: 12

Football Honors: Missed senior season due to surgery on a torn labrum ... Second-team all-East Central Conference quarterback selection as a junior ... Honorable mention all-league pick at quarterback as a sophomore ... Set the school record for career passing yards despite missing entire senior season ... Played varsity football as a freshman, sophomore and junior and passed for 3,304 yards and 28 touchdowns.

Basketball Honors: Four-year varsity performer for Waupun and a member of the Warriors' 2016 WIAA Division 3 state-championship team and 2019 Division 3 state runner-up squad ... Earned second-team all-league recognition in the East Central Conference as a sophomore, junior and senior while playing for coach Dan Domask and the Warriors.

Baseball Honors: First-team all-league pick as an infielder as a junior, second-team all-league choice as a sophomore and honorable mention all-conference selection as a freshman ... First-team All-Academic in baseball as a junior and second-team All-District as an infielder in 2018 ... Key player on Waupun's top-ranked baseball squad this spring as well.

Favorite Sport: "Baseball ... because of all the childhood memories I have of the game. Whether it was playing catch with my mom in the backyard or playing with the neighborhood kids, I fell in love with the game at a very early age."

Best Part of High School Sports: "Being able to make a variety of different friends, making connections, learning valuable skills and making memories."

Best Advice from a High School Coach: "Take it all in. I heard that from every coach at every level, but it never really made sense until this year. It goes so much faster than I thought possible, and I've really tried to take in every aspect of my high school experience this year, especially in athletics."

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: "Winning the state championship in basketball as a freshman. Although I got minimal playing time, that team defied all odds and was a very tight-knit bunch. The seniors set the bar high as to what a successful team should look and feel like."

Best Part of Playing Three Sports: "Becoming friends with a bunch of people. When you all share the same passion for the sport and are all working towards the same goal, it makes it a good time."

Toughest Part of Playing Three Sports: "Being able to balance priorities. I tried my best to improve my athletic ability, but also to do homework and have time for family and friends. At times, it got overwhelming, but it forced me to prioritize, which will help me in the long run."

Favorite Opponent: "Without a doubt, it's Ripon. It was always a battle for us in every sport, and the competition and atmosphere were great at every game."

Favorite Professional Teams: Packers, Brewers, Bucks

Favorite Professional Athletes: LeBron James, Orlando Arcia

Favorite College Teams: Wisconsin Badgers, Marquette Golden Eagles

Cumulative GPA: 3.886

Toughest Individual You’ve Competed Against: "Trequan Carrington of Martin Luther in basketball. The ability to make shots at his height against bigger defenders is unbelievable."

Most Admired High School Teammate: "Jak Lenz. He was a three-sport athlete and played all of the same sports as me, but a year ahead of me. He was good at all sports, but didn't need any recognition. He's the most humble guy you'll ever meet, but just and extreme competitor and awesome teammate."

College Plans: "I will be attending the University of Wisconsin -- Parkside to play baseball and study exercise science."

Activities Outside of Sports: National Honor Society, Student-Athlete Leadership Team (S.A.L.T.), Studen Government, Student Ambassadors, Junior High Mentoring, Highlife Church Group

I Find it Relaxing to: "Sit in the hot tub after a long week of games and practices."

Favorite TV show: Fixer Upper on HGTV

Favorite Movie: Step Brothers

Favorite Musical Artists: A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Chance the Rapper, Luke Combs

Favorite Subject: Physical Education

Favorite Restaurant: Culver's

Favorite Website: Youtube

Other Family Members: Kevin, father; Annie, mother; Colton, older brother; Macy, younger sister.
