Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of April 29 through May 5. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Apr. 29 - May 5

Mady Stariha, Superior softball: Mady was absolutely incredible for Superior this past week. She pitched in six games, compiling five wins and one save in 31 and 1/3 innings of work. Mady only allowed 11 hits and two earned runs in her outings, while striking out 45 batters. She was phenomenal in a 10-0 shutout of Menomonie. Mady pitched a perfect game with 11 strikeouts. Not only was Mady great from the mound, she hit extremely well from the plate. She went 9 for 21 from the plate with one home run and 11 RBI's.

Kiara Lee, Madison La Follette track & field: Kiara had a great day at the Madison City Championships, taking home four individual, first place finishes. She won both the 100 and 200 meter races with times of 12.94 seconds and 27.27 seconds respectively. She then won both the long and triple jump events. Kiara won the long jump in 17-7 and the triple jump in 36-7.75.

Kara Gavaghan, West Salem girls soccer: Kara helped lead West Salem to three Mississippi Valley Conference victories last week to keep pace with first place Onalaska. In a 4-1 win over La Crosse Central, Kara assisted on all four goals. She then netted four goals herself, along with one assist, in a 5-0 win over Tomah. To finish the week off, West Salem beat Aquinas 6-2. Kara scored two goals and assisted on two others in the victory.

Vaughn Williston, Waupun baseball: The top ranked Waupun Warriors matched up with Berlin in a double header last Tuesday, and Vaughn was on point in the opening 18-0, game one win. Vaughn pitched a no-hitter for the Warriors in five innings. He struck out 10 batters along the way.

Davis Wenthe, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau boys track & field: Davis had a record setting day at the Trempealeau County Invite last week. He took home four first place finishes including a school record in the 400 meter race. He ran that 400 in a time of 50.38 seconds. Davis also won the high and long jump events. He high jumped six feet and won the long jump with a distance of 19-8.5. Davis' final first place finish was in the 110 hurdles, which he won with a time of 15.50 seconds.
