Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of May 20 through 26. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: May 20-26

Adam Strouf, Rice Lake boys track and field: Adam will be heading to La Crosse this weekend in both throwing events for Rice Lake as he qualified in both the shot put and the discuss. Adam finished fourth in the discuss, with a long enough throw to quality for state. Adam took home a first place finish in the shot put with a distance of 58'11.25". That distance set a new school record that had been in place for 43 years.

Lucas Heyroth, Lodi boys track and field: Lucas continued an absolutely incredible freshmen year for the Lodi track and field team by qualifying for four separate events for state. He took home first place finishes in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles with times of :14.83 and :39.80 respectively. He also won the long jump with a distance of 21 feet 11.25 inches. Finally, Lucas was a part of the 800 meter relay team that qualified for a state appearance.

Hunter Wright, Winneconne baseball: Hunter was almost perfect from both the plate and mound as Winneconne trounced Berlin 18-0 in the opening round of playoff baseball games. Hunter was four of four from the plate, batting seven runners in. He also was on the mound, recording the win as he struck out four batters to advance Winneconne to regional semi-final action.

Haley Wynn, Whitnall softball: Haley was dominant from both the plate and mound in both of Whitnall's regional playoff wins this past week. First in a 17-0 semi-final win over Delavan-Darien, Haley struck out four and gave up one hit to record the win. Even more, she went three of four from the plate with four RBIs and two runs scored. She hit a home run and stole a base as well. In the ensuing 15-0 regional final win over Whitewater, Haley pitched a four-inning no-hitter to will her team to sectionals. She struck out six batter in the process. From the plate, Haley went three of three with four runs scored and two stolen bases.

Grace Hebel, Westby girls track and field: Grace took home a trio of first place finishes at the Division 2 East Troy sectional meet to advance to state in each. She began the day by winning the 100 meter race in 12.55 seconds. Grace then went on to win both the long and triple jumps. In the long jump, her distance was 17-1.5, while her triple jump measured 37-4.
