Senior Softball Awards: Outfielder Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN Senior Softball Awards

The pre-season watch list has been trimmed down to six finalists. 

WSN Senior Softball Awards -- Outfielder Finalists:

Haley Lamberson, Wilmot -- Lamberson helped Wilmot reach the Division 1 state tournament. She is hitting .398 with 35 hits and 25 runs scored for the Panthers. She has a .958 fielding percentage with just two errors this season. Lamberson is committed to NCAA Division II University of Missouri - St. Louis. Wilmot plays Pulaski in a D1 state quarterfinal on Thursday.  

Kourtney LeRoy, Mishicot -- LeRoy is a key reason why the Indians are making their third state tournament appearance. Kourtney is hitting .535 and has an .817 slugging percentage. She has compiled 38 hits, 31 runs scored and 41 RBI this season. LeRoy also has eight doubles and four home runs for the 24-0 Indians. Mishicot will meet Pacelli on Thursday in a Division 4 state semifinal. 

Karly Maurina, Altoona -- Maurina posted a .476 batting average with 30 RBI and 41 runs scored for the Railroaders this season. She tallied 39 hits, 11 doubles, three triples and two home runs. She also went 18-for-18 on stolen bases. Maurina spent some time in the circle this season, posting a 7-0 record with 34 strikeouts and a 1.96 ERA in 39 1/3 innings. Altoona fell to D3 state qualifier Prescott in a regional final. 

Molly McChesney, Verona -- McChesney shared Big Eight POY honors with teammate Meghan Anderson. Entering sectional play, McChesney was hitting .598 with 22 RBI and 52 runs scored for the Wildcats. She also went 33-for-35 on stolen bases and posted a .818 fielding percentage. Verona fell to defending D1 state champion Sun Prairie in a sectional final. McChesney is committed to NCAA Division I University of Akron. 

Alyssa McClelland, Kenosha Bradford/Reuther -- McClelland is hitting .500 with 41 runs scored and 29 RBI for the Red Devils. She has also compiled eight doubles, two triples and two home runs this season. Alyssa has walked 27 times and struck out just 11 times. Defensively, she has a .960 fielding percentage. Kenosha Bradford/Reuther plays Chippewa Falls in a Division 1 state quarterfinal on Thursday. 

Sophie Schroeder, Pacelli -- Schroeder has helped Pacelli to a return trip to the state tournament. She is hitting .410 with 29 RBI and 34 runs scored. Sophie has eight doubles, three triples and a home run for the Cardinals. The centerfielder has a .929 fielding percentage. Pacelli will play Mishicot in a Division 4 state semifinal at Goodman Diamond on Thursday.
