Senior Softball Awards: Pitcher Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN Senior Softball Awards

The pre-season watch list has been trimmed down to eight finalists. 

WSN Senior Softball Awards -- Pitcher Finalists:

Maddy Anderson, Waukesha North -- Anderson enters the state tournament with a 14-3 record with 261 strikeouts. In 118 innings pitched she has a 0.47 ERA and walked just 19 on the season. At the plate, Maddy is hitting .397 with three home runs and 19 RBI. Waukesha North faces defending state champion Sun Prairie on Thursday in a Division 1 state quarterfinal. Anderson is committed to NCAA Division I Western Illinois. 

Meghan Anderson, Verona -- Anderson was named Big Eight co-Player of the Year as a senior. Prior to the Wildcats' loss to Sun Prairie in a Division 1 sectional final, Anderson was 21-2 with 207 strikeouts and a 1.63 ERA in 133 innings pitched. The NCAA Division II Northern State recruit has eight shutouts this season. 

Olivia Bobak, Monroe -- Bobak has led the Cheesemakers to the Division 2 state tournament. Entering sectional play, she has posted a 21-2 record with 211 strikeouts and a 1.54 ERA in 145 innings. Bobak has six shutouts on the season. At the plate, she has .481 batting average with four home runs and 28 RBI. Monroe faces New Berlin West in a Division 2 state semifinal on Friday. 

Sydni Gburek, Mosinee -- Gburek led the Indians to Division 2 sectional play before falling to Merrill. Entering sectionals, she was 17-0 with a 0.18 ERA with 151 strikeouts in 90 innings pitched. Gburek pitched 12 shutouts and twirled three no-hitters this season. 

Alyssa Muench, Campbellsport -- Muench has guided the Cougars to the Division 3 state tournament. Entering sectional play, she was 14-6 with 205 strikeouts and a 1.50 ERA in 126 innings. Alyssa has seven shutouts and one no-hitter this season. She is also a threat at the plate with a .408 batting average with eight home runs and 29 RBI. Campbellsport faces Southern Door in a D3 state semifinal on Friday. Muench is committed to NCAA Division II Saginaw Valley State University. 

Sydney Supple, Oshkosh North -- Supple, a Northwestern Wildcats recruit, enters the state tournament with a 26-0 record. She has a 0.82 ERA with 262 strikeouts in 146 innings pitched. Supple has 12 shutouts and four no-hitters this season. She is also a force at the plate with a .535 batting average with 12 home runs and 47 RBI for the Spartans. Sydney is back-to-back FVA Player of the Year. Oshkosh North will meet Nicolet in a Division 1 state quarterfinal on Thursday at Goodman Diamond in Madison. 

Maggie Wallin, Glenwood City -- Wallin finished the year with a 19-3 record with 263 strikeouts in 130 2/3 innings. She posted a 1.34 ERA and posted six shutouts and twirled one no-hitter for the Hilltoppers. Maggie hit .405 with five home runs and 26 RBI this season. Glenwood City's season ended with a 4-1 loss against Thorp in a Division 4 sectional. 

Sadie Willborn, Belmont -- Willborn has guided the Braves to their second consecutive trip to the state tournament. She is 23-1 with a 0.75 ERA and 232 strikeouts. Sadie has posted eight shutouts and has two no-hitters this season. At the plate, she is hitting .429 with 13 doubles and 15 RBI. Belmont will play Tri-County in a Division 5 state semifinal on Thursday.
