Athens' Seth Coker has been selected as the top senior Infielder/Catcher as part of the WSN Senior Baseball Awards.

It is rare company to earn a division Player of the Year honor from the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association. Athens senior Seth Coker took home the honor two years in a row.

He hit .594 as a senior heading into the state tournament with 13 extra-base hits, 22 RBI, a .671 on-base percentage and 1.561 OPS. Oh, and he's been successful on all 16 of his stolen base attempts. Coker also led the team in wins, innings pitched, and strikeouts on the mound.

Coker was a part of two state championship teams at Athens to go with a state tournament appearance as a senior.

Finalists for the award were Coker, Shane Ryan of Markesan, Beau Schumacher of Kimberly, Justin Sedin of Northwestern, and Nate Stevens of Waunakee.

Past winners of the award include Prescott's Billy Brookshaw (2012), Bay Port's Drew Neuville (2013), Marshfield's Daulton Varsho (2014), Jefferson's Nick Schrader (2015), Kenosha Indian Trail's Gavin Lux (2016), Oconomowoc's Zach Clayton (2017), and Janesville Craig's Jacob Campbell (2018).
