Webster's Jack Washburn has been selected as the top senior Pitcher as part of the WSN Senior Baseball Awards.

Washburn went out in style as a senior, helping the Tigers to a second straight state championship, pitching a complete game shutout in the state championship game, striking out 12 in the 11-1 victory. He also posted a save in the team's state semi-final win over Athens.

Washburn teamed with Hunter Rosenbaum to give the Tigers a pair of elite, Division 1 college talents. An Oregon State commit, Washburn struck out 123 batters in 63 innings this year. Going 12-0 on the mound, he allowed just two earned runs, good for a 0.22 ERA.

Washburn was a part of five no-hitters this year, including three solo no-no's. That includes five-inning no-hitters against Northwood in regionals and Thorp in a Sectional Final. He also knocked six homers this year with 46 BI and a 1.477 OPS.

Finalists for the award were Washburn, Trey Krause of Burlington, Connor Langreder of West De Pere, Connor Prielipp of Tomah, and Hunter Rosenbaum of Webster.

Past winners of the award include Sun Prairie's Nate Hoffmann (2012), Kenosha Bradford's Kevin Tibor (2013), Stevens Point's Cal Giese (2014), Kimberly's Brice Swick (2015), Arrowhead's Ryan Schmitt (2016), Eau Claire North's Tanner Halvorson (2017), and Eau Claire Memorial's Jack Brown (2018).
